What’s For Dinner?

How do you build a house?

A weird question to begin with, but stick with me.

You decide you want to build a house.

You begin planning and evenually

you begin building.

There is great importance in planning in order to reach your goals and to lower stress in the kitchen. Lower stress leads to better digestion which leads to less food being stored as fat.

(Check out my last blog post of some practical ideas of using cookbooks to decide what to make for dinner)

Here is what you can do:

  • Ask for the Lord’s help and guidance. He cares deeply about the food you prepare for yourself and your family. He delights to be invited into planning of our meals and our lives.

  • Set aside some time on a day that works best for you. (30 mins-60 mins)(Sunday after church was a great time for me)

  • Email me and ask me to send you a blank meal Living With Hope meal planning template! Just shoot me a quick email on the contact me page

  • Grab a cookbook from your local library or your kitchen

  • And begin flipping through the pages and jotting down some pages numbers that stand out.

  • Once you find at least 7 meals you want to prepare for dinner, fill them in on your sheet…choosing which day would be the easiest or wisest to make a 30 min meal on or a crockpot meal.

    • I have my calendar beside me and choose the meal that makes the most sense for what is on my calendar for that day.

  • I usually begin cooking my meal about an hour before I want to serve it

  • Feel free to be flexible with your meal plans and swap Tuesday for Thursday’s meal
