Immunity Boosting Habits

How do you start your day?
Thanking God for the breath he gave you and then putting your feet on the floor?
Or does rolling over to check your phone and then groggily head to the coffee pot to make a fresh pot of coffee to wake you up?

The days that go the best for me, begin with thanking God for this day He has given me, saying good morning to my husband, and spending some time even just a few minutes sitting quietly, with my hot lemon water in hand, praying and reading the bible.

Our brain makes new neurons every night while we are sleeping! This is GREAT news…it means our brains can be rewired! So, when we wake up thankful, our brain tells the neurons to start off on the right foot. It helps with rewiring our brain with gratitude rather than an bad attitude which leads to stress, inflammation and ultimately a lower immune response.

  1. Began each day with a grateful heart. Aim for it. If you forget, when you remember pause and speak out loud 2-3 things you are thankful for. Your attitude will shift.

  2. Hydrate: Try warm lemon water (you can add a dash of quality salt) first thing in the morning. It will give your liver a jump start, the added salt helps your cells get replenished and helps you begin to be hydrated.

    • You are welcome to have your coffee! But make sure the amount of water is double the amount of coffee. Being hydrated is a KEY way to helping support your immune system.

  3. Movement: move your body EVERYDAY.

    • go for walks, do squats in your office, go on a bike ride, skip with your kiddos, jump on the trampoline, go on a run, lift weights, do a work out video, dance in the kitchen while your dinner is cooking…the list is endless…

      • but remember your body wants to move and NEEDs to move, but sometimes walking is all your body can handle in certain seasons of life

  4. Eat whole food

    • God created food to be incredibly tasteful, nutrient rich, and beautiful. Eat food the way He has designed it, or as close as you’re able.

  5. Get enough sleep

  6. Ground yourself daily

Note: I will be writing future blog posts detailing more of these! But here are a few things to wet your whistle and hopefully jump start you on helping support or boost your immune system!
